From the north,
follow signs for Perpignan on the A9 and exit at Perpignan Sud (jnct. 42).
Once through the peage, take the slip road off to your right (direction Argelès/Porte d’Espagne).
At the first roundabout, exit right onto the N9 towards Argelès/Gerone/ Porte d’Espagne.
At the second and third roundabouts, take the second exit.
You will now join the D914 direction Argelès and Elne.
Stay on the D914 for approximately 18km (11 miles) and * exit at junction 13, Le Racou, onto the D114.
At the roundabout take the second exit, back over the D914.
Take the second exit on the next roundabout towards Argelès Centre.
Pass under a small bridge and take the first turning on your right onto the D81 towards Racou and Argelès Port.
From here follow signs to Racou Plages.
At the next roundabout, take the first exit.
You will come to another roundabout where you take the first exit, signposted Le Bois de Valmarie.
From the south,
exit the A9 at Le Boulou (jnct. 43), signposted Le Boulou/Ceret/Argelès sur Mer.
Beyond the paege, turn left off the roundabout onto the D115 towards Argelès sur Mer.
At the next roundabout, exit right on to the D618A towards Port Vendres and Argelès sur Mer.
After approximately 7km (4.2miles) exit left off the roundabout following the D618 Argelès sur Mer.
After 9km take a left off the roundabout to exit and stay on D618.
As you reach the outskirts of Argelès take the right hand slip road onto the D914 (jnct 11)

The local Area around Camping le Bois de Valmarie
A small selection of restaurants, bars and shops can be found in the nearby village of Racou, while the attractive port of Argelès is around a 20 minute walk from site. Here you will find a superb selection of restaurants. The site is 100 yards from the spacious beach at Racou, or a ten minute drive from the promenade lined beach at Argelès-Plage. A tourist train runs throughout the day between the site and Argelès Ville, port and beach.
The Laboratoire Arago Aquarium in Banyuls-sur-Mer (6mls) is one of the oldest in France and exhibits rare fish donated by local fishermen. Explore the lighthouse at Cap Bear, the last lighthouse before the Spanish border - the views from the top are stunning.
