Camping Acapulco in Vendee

Camping Acapulco is a well-maintained and modern site, in a wonderful location close to many long sandy beaches. The facilities on site are superb and include a landscaped pool complex, which offers five waterslides with their own splash pool, a children's pool and a swimming pool and a jacuzzi pool.

Overlooking the complex is the bright and attractive bar area, housed in a white washed, terracotta tiled building - typical of the Vendee. Relax here with a refreshing drink, whilst the children splash around in the water. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment including discos, bingo and karaoke. Children will love playing at the well-equipped play area or in the large games room with pool table and computer games.

Local Area Finding Camping Acapulco

From the North;
follow signs for Nantes and Bordeaux.
As you approach Nantes, join the large ring road (peripherique).
*Exit the Peripherique south of Nantes, joining the A801 motorway (blue signs) signposted for Bordeaux and La Rochelle.
After approx. 5km you will exit the motorway at junction 1, direction La Roche-sur-Yon (D178 green signs).
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit direction Challans.
The D178 turns into the D117 after a few kilometres.
As you approach Machecoul, take 3rd exit off the roundabout (D95) still following for Challans.
Just before Challans follow signs for St Jean de Monts.
Exit onto a large roundabout on the outskirts of St Jean, following signs for St Hilaire de Riez and St Gilles Croix de Vie.
After 5 minutes you will arrive in the small village of Orouet.
As you come into Orouet there is a white hotel (Oasis Hotel) on the right.
Turn right here **(Avenue des Epines) and after around 1km the campsite is on your left, just after Camping les Genets.

From the South;
from St Gilles, follow the D38 towards Jean de Monts.
After 6.5km you will reach Le Pissot.
Take a left, direction Orouet and St Jean.
Through Orouet you come to a 30km/h zone, shortly after this turn left at the Oasis Hotel and follow from**.

From Nantes Airport;
follow signs for Peripherique Sud to join the Nantes ring road.
Once you are on the ring road follow directions from*.

The local Area around Camping Acapulco

The long, sandy beach of Plage des Mouettes is just 650 yards from site. There are shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, mini-golf and discos at Merlin Plage, a short walk from site.

The Sealand aquarium at Noirmoutier-en-l'Ile (26mls), with its marvellous exhibit of sealions in the semi open air pool, makes a good outing. Visit Le Puy du Fou, a one and a half hour drive from the site, for a spectacular re-enactment of the history of the Vendee and watch the incredible fireworks and fountain display at night.
